Almost Ten Hours of Homework Today - myspace blog post

Whew, I've been doing homework since 2, and I really took very few breaks. Craziness. I think I'm just a slow reader or something. Not sure why it takes me so long. Well, Family Law being about 1 million pages might actually be a reason.

It snowed today, and I swear the flakes looked like movie snowflakes. They were quite surreal and it was beautiful. I imagine it was awfully cold outside again, but I didn't make it out due to the never ending illness and the above mentioned homework. However, I like winter in MN, more than summer in some ways. It can be very beautiful and peaceful, well, when you don't have to drive anyway.

This weekend is Manda's shower and I'm really looking forward to that. I'm really looking forward to the wedding as well. It should be a fabulous night!

Shout out to Roz and Neoma's mom who has now made me three meals since the sickness began. Also to D and K for bringing me cough syrup and Hooch for the notes. I am blessed to have such good friends. You guys rock.

Off to relax a bit before bed...

Request - myspace blog post

Hi all,

My grandma is not doing well at all, and if you have a minute, I would really appreciate it if you could send positive thoughts/prayers her way. It wouldn't hurt to include my mom either, as she's really hurting too. Thanks much-I really appreciate it!

Another Day Another Dollar...Spent That Is - myspace blog post

I finished another morning teaching today. No tyrant Schmiddy at all. In fact, I let the kids choose what they wanted to do. I didn't have two of the classes today because Nick Coleman came in to speak (the columnist for the Strib). It was really interesting to listen to him talk. However, he did quash a few of my kids' dreams about their future jobs...I suppose the NBA isn't too realistic for these kids though. None of them are 6'10 or even close to it.

Tomorrow, I get to go do my favorite activity in the world-trying on a dress! HA! My bridesmaid dress arrived and it needs to be altered, so back to David's Bridal I go. I can't wait. If only I could have found that emerald green suit to wear...I could have been a leprechaun. Alas, it's a dress for me. At least it's not strapless!

The flu is slowly dissipating, so that is good news. Hopefully I didn't catch a new disease from my children today. It's tough to avoid germs when kids are climbing all over you. Come on expensive vitamins-do your job.

Baby It's Cold Outside - myspace blog post

Not that I would know it's cold outside. I haven't been outside since Friday. Damn flu. I thought I was getting better, but today I feel like I'm living in la la land. I did manage to do some work yesterday, so that is good. If my head clears a bit today, I should be able to do the same. I hope my voice is back so I can adequately admonish my lovely PE students tomorrow. I had a dream that I was a crazy tyrant with them. Perhaps that will come true. Hehe. Seriously though, they are great kids, and I love teaching them.

So, I've decided I'm tired of law school sucking the life out of me. I want my life back. I used to be social for pete's sake! When law review is done, I'm going to try to reclaim my life. See old friends regularly, meet new ones, etc. I hope this is really possible. I might just be talking a big game because law school and everything else really does take up a lot of time, but I hope I can pull it off.

Listen up friends and spread the word. Lisa is coming back! Help me make it possible so I'm not a giant liar. :)

Adios para ahora!

I'm Up - myspace blog post

Good morning Vietnam! So here I am up and at 'em at 11:30 am. Wow, I'm such a gunner. Anyway, the flu is maintaining its current grip on me, but I am improving too. I think those vitamins are working! Or it's just time. I like to think it's the vitamins since they cost a small fortune. I guess you can't just spend a lot of money on good food these days-that's simply not adequate. In addition, you must spend a significant amount of money on pills that supplement your food intake. Quite sad really. What has happened to the food supply? Up next, my upcoming bout with e coli or something like that. Knowing my luck, it will happen, so stay tuned for that riveting story.

Okay, I'm tired again. I might have to go rest. And the gunner is down...

Getting Sicker - myspace blog post

Caution: The following might make some sensitive readers feel queasy. Read at your own risk. By choosing to proceed, you agree to absolve the writer of all liability.

I woke up this morning and coughed up the sickest stuff I've ever seen. Yellowish/greenish/brownish thick mucus. It topped the stuff I spit out when I had pneumonia. And to make it even better, there was tons of it-I actually vomited this stuff. Sick.

So, I went to health services on campus and the nurse there was excellent. She guessed I had the flu, influenza. Good times. Maybe I should have got that stupid shot after all, but the one year I did, I got sick for a full week. She did give me some good advice on how to improve my immune system in general (Sarah's at the store right now procuring these items for me-shout out to Sarah) since I've been sick so often this past year (tonsillitis in Paris this June, Strep throat in October and December, and now this). Hopefully it won't be a giant waste of money. I'm such a skeptic. The nurse also encouraged sleep and reducing stress, but then we both laughed since we know that's not really possible for law students. Perhaps I'm doomed to another 1.5 years of illness. Sigh.

Anyway, now I'm sitting in bed trying to concentrate on doing any sort of work. So far I only managed to send off my 2nd quarter PE grades. Now I guess it's on to my ethics paper. Title: Ethics: Who needs them when there is money to be made? HA-for those of you that know me even a little bit, you know that couldn't be further from the truth. However, I still feel the paper is a total waste of time. Sort of like blogging. Hmm...

I Hate the Flu - myspace blog post

Man, I just can't catch a break health wise. I had strep in October and December (right in the middle of finals) and now I have some sort of flu thing with a fever, cough, aches, etc. To make it worse, I had to go to school for most of the day because I have two classes that I can only miss twice all semester and I will already be missing them for Amanda's wedding in March. Doh! So, I suffered through most of the day and now I'm sitting in Family Law sweating because I'm breaking a fever. No good. Timing couldn't be worse, as I have massive quantities of work to do-law review is rapidly bearing down on me-ick.

Besides my chronic illness and insane workload, life is pretty good!
