Big Brain Academy

Karen and Paige gave me Big Brain Academy for the Wii for my birthday this year, and the four of us recently played together. Well, it turns out I'm dumb, at least according to Big Brain. The four of us took our "brain" test, and I came in dead last! Also, poor Karen and I had our asses kicked by Beth and Paige...poor Karen was stuck with me! To make matters worse, the "teacher" sort of scolds you when you don't do well. Just what I need - a real confidence booster!

In good news, I have since much improved my score, but it's still not an easy game for me. I love it because it's fun, but it's not great for the ego. I was thinking of buying Wii Fit, but I'm not sure I need to be scolded for BOTH my brain and my physical shape. Good times! ;)

Wii Fun

Karen and Paige came over on Friday night to have tacos and play Wii with me and Beth. I've recently discovered a new drink (malibu and coke) and K and P brought Sangria, so we all had a good time (really, I think I had a maximum of 3-4 drinks, so I wasn't even really buzzed).

We ate a ton of good food, and then we attempted to play Carnival games on the Wii. Attempted really is the key word, as we sort of sucked at it. Most of the time, our scores ranged from 1-3 (which is really low). Regardless, we had a good time, and it was nice to see them. Plus, it reminded me that I need to play Wii more often - I still love it! I need to master MLB, but it seems really difficult. Maybe when it snows!

I need to revisit Guitar Hero as well, as I heard that the firm had a GH party in the recent past and is considering another one in the future. Awesome! Gotta get practicing! :)

Rock Band Rules

My sister Samantha just purchased Rock Band, and it is now my new favorite game (sorry Wii, I'm having an affair). I discovered that I love playing the drums, well, at least the Rock Band drums. It is sort of dificult, but it also allows me to jam out. I tend to have the lowest score on every song out of all the band members, but they still let me play. :) For a freaking hysterical commentary on my Rock Band adventures, check out Samantha's blog.

The Wii and Me!

The Nintendo Wii arrived late last week, and so far I love it! I bought several games, but so far, I still love the simple stuff the best (Wii sports, Wii play, Mario and Sonic Olympics, mini-golf, etc.). I can't wait to try MLB 2K8, but I think once I do, I will become an addict. I can't have that as finals rapidly approach...speaking of finals, I did get a decent amount of work done this weekend, so that's good. I even studied on Saturday night after I had a lovely time at Jill's house. Woot! However, after finals, I may become a complete Wii addict...or maybe Rock Band, since my sister just bought that. The time wasting possibilities are endless...too bad about that thing called the bar exam!

Introducing my new love...the Nintendo Wii

The Nintendo Wii has been out for some time now. Probably a long time, but I don't really know. However, I was always skeptical about it - I didn't get why it would be fun, etc. Thus, I always refused Sarah's attempts to get me to try it. My first experience with it at a party also didn't go well, leading me to believe that Wii just wasn't for me. However, Karen and Paige invited me to play one night, and I fell in love. I particularly like the Wii sports games (a shout out to Beth here, who frickin' rocks at Wii tennis. It's almost scary). Overall, what a great concept! If only Nintendo wasn't so greedy and actually produced and sold more than 4 consoles a month...

Anyway, I decided to be a good, patriotic American by spending my economic stimulus rebate check on a Wii bundle from Gamestop. I ordered it a while ago, knowing it wouldn't ship until mid-April. Well, in fantastic news, it shipped today! Soon, I will have my very own Wii! You may never see me again, and I might not pass finals, but whatever. ;) Actually, I think I can exert some self control, and I think the Wii will be an excellent stress reliever during finals. Plus, now we can play Wii, Guitar Hero, and SingStar at my graduation party; that rules for sure! Yay yay yay!

10-4 from your former friend who will soon be addicted to Wii,
Schmiddy

PS to Kristin: I hope your foot heals soon!
PPS to Amanda: Glad to hear you are feeling better and that you don't have pneumonia!
